Day 104: Toronto Chinatown Festival

by Thomas Cook on August 27, 2010

The 10th annual Toronto Chinatown Festival will attract an expected 100,000 people to Toronto’s famous Chinatown area at Spadina and Dundas on the weekend of August 28th and 29th. With an emphasis on ancient Chinese culture, the Toronto Chinatown is the epitome of entertainment and street market-style foods from the far east.

Experience Toronto's Asian culture this weekend on Spadina Ave.

The festival sees over 100 corporate and retail booths each and every year with an array of food samples, celebrations, games, multicultural entertainment, prizes and also holds the Guinness Book of World Record’s largest Moon Cake.

This celebration of Asian heritage and traditions is opened up by the Lion Dance troupe and includes an indoor bonsai exhibit, Chinese music, kung fu lessons for kids, ancient Chinese football, all sorts of regional Asian foods like Szechuan, Mongolian, Cantonese, Chiu Chow, Japanese, Saigon, Hong Kong, Taiwanese and Shanghai.
